About Me

As a film editor and sound designer based in Los Angeles, I bring five years of editing experience across narrative, documentary, and experimental projects. Originally from China, I moved to the U.S. to pursue an MFA in Film Editing at Loyola Marymount University, where I deepened both my technical skills and creative voice. Over the years, I’ve worked as an editor, assistant editor, and DIT on various productions, always drawn to the craft’s unique blend of intuition and precision.

I edit across genres, but emotional expression is always my focus. I’m a sensitive person by nature, and I lean into that when I edit—constantly tuning into tone, pacing, and the inner rhythm of each story. For instance, even in horror films—where I’m easily scared myself—this heightened sensitivity helps me shape tension and atmosphere in ways that truly grip the audience.

My passion also extends to documentary work, where I search for “aesthetic truth”—a balance between raw reality and purposeful storytelling. In Waiting to Say Goodbye, a documentary I directed and edited, I followed families still looking for closure after the disappearance of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370. Through their stories, I witnessed how time can stand still for those unwilling to forget.

Much of my artistic vision is shaped by a deep fascination with memory and impermanence. I’m drawn to the elusive nature of the past—forever chasing echoes of eras I’ve never lived through. Influenced by concepts like false nostalgia and Sehnsucht, I’ve wandered through ancient towns in China and Europe searching for moments that seem just out of reach. That longing—and the realization that nothing truly lasts—drives the emotional core of many of my stories, often centered around people left behind by a fast-changing world.

Whether it’s a stylized narrative short, a quiet observational documentary, or a moody psychological piece, I approach every project with the same intention: to preserve fleeting moments, and to shape emotion through the language of editing.
